Casual Friday took an interesting flight today as Dan Beck, director of external and advocacy communications for Boeing’s Defense, Space and Security business unit decided to take a bite out of EADS’ recent movements into Boeing’s military tanker business. The language between the two has been the stuff of fighting legend after EADS North America announced its intent to compete for the U.S. Air Force’s KC-X tanker deal back in April.
The latest comments come as a reaction to the hot bidding space between the two manufacturers and while the blog post is short but a brief taste easily illustrates Beck’s sentiments:
“Immediately, EADS/Airbus – in a move typical of their conduct since announcing they were entering the tanker competition as a prime bidder – attacked this announcement by interjecting themselves into a competition they have no connection to and desperately trying to relate it to the Air Force tanker competition.”
Oh, how we love catty competition!
