Government Contractors › Forums › Mergers and Acquisitions › Harris Corporation and L3 Technologies Merger: Good for DoD and the industry?
In an all-stock merger, Harris and L-3 Technologies merged to create the sixth-largest defense contractor in the U.S.
The deal, with a value of approximately $34 billion, passes the Boeing merger with McDonnell Douglas as the largest in the history of the defense industry.
Once the deal is finalized by the end of next year, the merged companies, to be known as L3 Harris Technologies, will have an annual sales of $16 billion and push them into the top 10 of all government contractors in terms of revenue.
Is this merger ultimately good for the DoD? For the govcon industry?
Or is this something the Defense Department would consider rejecting?
